How this Simple Fix helped me LOVE my Laundry Room
I was having a hard time "loving" my laundry room. Now let's be honest, of all the rooms in your house to love, I'm sure the laundry room is near the bottom of the list. With 5 kids, I ALWAYS have a pile of laundry waiting for me. I get it all done and then the kids get home from school and change out of their uniforms into their "relaxing clothes" (what we like to call it at our house) and wha-la, a pile of laundry 😩 ready and waiting for me. I knew there was nothing I could do about the never ending laundry But there was something I could do about loving the room I did it in. How many of you pile stuff on top of your washer and dryer? Especially if it's in the mud room area? Ah come on, I know I'm not the only one. Over time I noticed that the tops of my washer and dryer were getting all scratched. I tried laying towels on them, but they would always slip off. I even thought about sticking some contact paper on them but was pretty sure I wouldn't like the look of that.
To solve the problem once and for all, I decided to build a table out of wood to put over it. Genius, I tell ya!
I needed to add some "cute" to my laundry room too, so I built some shelves to go above my washer and dryer. Surprisingly enough, these shelves and baskets have come in handy. I've already hid some of my kids stuff in them, sshhhhh, don't tell.

Last by not least, remember a my post a few months back about SHIPLAP? Yep, added some of that to a couple of my laundry room walls too.
In the end, I don't dread stepping foot into the dreaded room to do those bottomless loads of laundry. I now have a light and bright room that is organized and actually pretty to look at.
