Decking the Halls of your Home
Merry Christmas!
I have been contemplating all month about what to write and share with you for December and this magical time of year. So I decided to bring you into my house and share some of my favorite Christmas décor.
Do you have items that you put up that are meaningful to you?
I have 2 particular things that mean the world to me and I look forward to putting them out and seeing them all month. The first one is my Grandma’s Dicken’s Christmas village. My cousin ended up getting most of it but she was so happy to let me pick a few special ones. I love getting them out of the box and thinking of her when I put them up. That's part of the magic of Christmas. Remembering loved ones and feeling that love warm our home.
Some of the other items that are special to me are my nativity sets. I have one that is hand carved from the holy lands and I hate taking it down! I could keep it up all year.
Christmas is my favorite time of year to decorate besides Halloween. Want to deck the halls of your home? Here are two tips to help you get started:
1. Sparkle and Metallics…can you ever go wrong with either? They are always a good idea! Most people have the classic red and green scheme of some sort in their home so throwing in silver, gold and white and of course glitter will add just the right touch! I have also seen a lot of Christmas stuff getting marked down so it is a great time to grab a few new pieces to your collection.
2. Putting items into groups of 2 or 3 items! Now of course I am going to say to put them on a tray! Remember my bar cart? I am still loving it! A tray keeps everything confined and makes it not so overwhelming. It can also draw the eye to different focal spots.
