Want to Win Friends & Enhance your Home at the Same Time? Here's How!

Hey everyone, before I tell you how to enhance your home, family and friendships I think introductions are in order. My name is Dave. This is my first blog here on PRIME. So be nice to me! I have 3 awesome kids and an incredible wife. I spend a lot of time coaching my kids' sports which is something I love. I'm also passionate about homes. Helping others find value in their home investment is something I truly enjoy doing. I feel like the luckiest guy to get to help others for a living. I'm excited to share some of that passion with you here on the PRIME blog.
I love October. It's one of my favorite times of year. The constant battle with the long hot summer nights comes to a close and we have about a two month window before the nights become too cold to enjoy our backyards. One of my favorite things about these autumn nights is snuggling up in an outdoor living space next to a fire. Gone are the days of huddling around an open wood fire in the back of the yard only to be reminded of said fire every time we breathe in for the next 3 days, lets keep the wood burning pits to the great outdoors.
More and more we are seeing gas fire pits created and used to invite others into our outdoor living areas. I am lucky enough to have friends that don't mind me coming over (usually unannounced) to their home to enjoy their fire and company. Many a night we have sat out on their back deck or patio talking for hours while staying warm by the fire. Our kids love it because the parents are usually outdoors and they can play basketball or soccer while the parents visit and then when they get tired of playing it is time to roast some marshmallows for S'mores.
Fire has been bringing groups of people together for millions of years. We have come a long way from the times where fire was essential for cooking, keeping predators and insects at bay and having warmth during the night... not to mention entertainment (imagine a life without books, television and Prime Residential's Blog).
Although fire is no longer needed for survival it should be an added element (pun intended) to our lives. It is a relatively inexpensive way to add value to our homes. I recently sold a home to a client that chose the home they did based on the outdoor living space and fire pit. It might not be something we think about as home owners but if we plan to sell and it comes down to similar homes priced the same the fire pit may push your home over the top.
Options: There are always propane options at local or online stores. If you get real brave or have a little extra cash, tap into your homes gas line, this provides an endless supply of energy and takes away the element of surprise when the propane runs dry.
If you have a fire pit you would like me to come test out for S'more cooking please let me know! Until then, stay warm my friends.
